Kompakt - Pocket Mode

@kirkmahoneyphd This is great. I just noticed in these settings that pressing the POWER BUTTON 5 times calls the emergency service- I’m wondering is this an EU (or some other regulatory) requirement. I have to check.

Very good idea!

Yeah seriously, love my Kompakt so far but it’s really annoying how sensitive the fingerprint scanner is. Getting tired of closing my phone and having it vibrate in my pocket with the screen on because my hand will naturally brush the fingerprint scanner. Should be a pretty simple fix I hope

You can always stop using it untill they update it. It’s aosp 12. So unlocking it is fairly easy without your fingerprint

Didn’t even think about simply removing my fingerprint lmao, easy fix to the sensitivity issue thanks!

Hi. I’m using Kompakt since a week now. Fantastic little phone, does what it’s supposed to do.

I can confirm the fingerprint scanner issue. The phone tends to unlock WHILE I put it in my pocket (it lands in my pocket unlocked by accident), and then weird things happen.

This is how I would describe the issue:

  • Actual: touching the “unlock” button (with an earlier scanned finger) without pressing it unlocks the screen
  • Expected: touching the “unlock” button (with an earlier scanned finger) without pressing it DOES NOT unlock the screen. Pressing the “unlock” button (with an earlier scanned finger) UNLOCKS the screen.

This is how I would expect the “unlock button with fingerprint reader” to work, and it seems it would also fix the “pocket mistouch unlock” issue…
Would it be possible to change the behavior? @urszula would you kindly check with developers (depending on their load of course…)

I’m still using the phone, as it’s keeping my screen addiction at bay, however I need to handle the phone “in a weird way” to avoid accidental unlocks…

This would fix one issue, while another one seems to remain: when pressing a button with fingerprints enabled, you practically can’t see the lock screen (the one that shows time and notifications). The phone either goes unlocked, or shows up a pinpad (which, I believe, should be some sort of possibility when swiping up from a lock screen or alike).

@jskierbi Our team is working on this. It’s an issue that has been reported to us & we are on it

In my opinion, the feature as of the recent update is perfect—screen does not turn on when an unregistered finger touches the fingerprint sensor. @urszula, please give my complements to the team!
