Kompakt exporting contacts

Hello,
I am having a difficult time exporting contacts from the kompakt.
I installed Mudita Center. tried a backup.
From what I read you can only do it with I cloud? google or outlook?
I tried with an Outlook account but it isn’t linked to the phone.
I think I might have misunderstood the procedure as it is very simple in the other phones I used, contacts → export → it creates a vcf file

The backup creates a proprietary backup file that will only work with the MuditaCenter.
It doesn’t just backup contacts it backups Call log, Messages, Alarms, Notes.

And as far as I know you can only import contacts you can’t export them

Thank you for you help,

I do not understand how it is not possible to export contacts.
Thats means that all the contacts I registred can be lost if I change phone?
It is a very simple feature tu export a vcf file for contacts usually no?

I have no idea, I just looked for a toggle anywhere in the app or in MC but couldn’t find it.

I’m going to propose a solution but ignore it if you don’t want it:

Sideload Fossify Contacts, is an open source Contacts app. It will ask for contacts permission, when you open it click on the 3 dots at the top, at the bottom of the page u have export vcf. And then u can import those wherever u want, it’s a standard format

@dava I’ve posed this question to our team. I’m waiting for their feedback on this issue.

UPDATE from the team regarding exporting contacts:

Thank you for reaching out. We understand your confusion around exporting contacts, and we apologize that the process isn’t as straightforward as on other phones you’ve used. Let us clarify how it works on the Kompakt.
First, to address the information you found: Mudita Center does not integrate with or require iCloud, Google, or Outlook to export contacts. The options you may have seen are for importing contacts from those services to your phone, not the other way around.
We do not currently offer an ‘Export to VCF’ option directly within the phone’s native Contacts app. This is a result of our design philosophy. The Mudita Kompakt is a de-googled phone, which means we intentionally avoid integrating with cloud-based sync services like Google Contacts or Microsoft Outlook to protect your privacy. The “Backup” feature in Mudita Center is our official method for creating a secure, encrypted file of your contacts on your computer.
We recognize that a direct export feature is highly requested and very important. Please be assured that our team is working on a future two-way integration, which will allow for easier exporting and managing of your contacts.
Immediate Workaround
In the meantime, many of our users have found success with a simple workaround that provides the exact functionality you’re looking for.
For example, Fossify Contacts (available from an app store like F-Droid) is a popular choice. Once installed, it can read your phone’s contacts and has a built-in feature to export them directly to a .vcf file on your phone’s storage, just as you described.
The issue is - though - that Fossify Contacts affects default Contacts app and can cause instability of the Kompakt phone. We are working on a future stability improvements in that regards. I would personally recommend avoiding export workarounds.
