Since day one of this camera (i got mine as a pre-order) I found the camera to be very laggy: I press the shutter button and then wait at least a second for the capture. I put this down to the camera being low-spec hardware wise…. but am now wondering if this is actually something to do with my particular phone. Do other people experience this?
I haven’t experienced this but it’s been a little while since I used the stock camera app. I installed Open Camera instead.
Yes. Takes more than one second to capture the picture. You have to have patience with it. Not sure why Camera functionality has to be like this. I stopped taking pictures with it.
Sometimes it takes a second, sometimes rather two. Perhaps it has something to do with light (UV) intensity. I just tried it and it was pretty quick (under a second) while most of the time it’s definitely longer.
I tried WhatsApp camera because it seems quicker but at the moment both are fair enough. :o
Same here. It takes between 1-2 seconds to take a photo depending on conditions. I believe the lens struggles to focus outside of optimal lighting and in the end, the result is usually a blur. I did wonder if a 3rd party app might be available, but don’t know whether it’ll be crippled by the hw. It’s a definite weak point of the MK, IMO.
Do you find that laggy? I’m not sure it’s much better.
It is e-ink I think that is to be expected
Yes, camera is horribly slow. Fossify Camera is way better in that regard but, when starting it, I have to press the “switch front/selfie camera” button twice to make the camera work (while with Mudita Camera, I have to switch offline button on and off several times)
I think it’s been much better than the MK camera. I’ve also tried the Fossify Camera but Open Camera seems to have worked better for me.
@bone_naga I can’t thank you enough for putting me onto Open Camera. I’ve now switched to Open Camera.
FYI, I have a thread complaining of the blurriness of photos using the MK native app, so to avoid repetition, I won’t post that content here, but I’ll just link to it instead.
@petemeister I’ve passed that thread on to the team to see the difference.
