I know that there’s no official support for Android apps sideloading on the Mudita Kompakt, but I’m having a small but impactful issue with the keyboard in sideloaded Firefox. I’m not planning on using the browser normally, but I would like to have this option in case of emergencies. Maybe the issue also appears in other apps, not sure.
The issue is that after entering a URL address (e.g. forum.mudita.com
) in the Firefox navigation bar and hitting the main button / “Enter” / “Proceed”, nothing happens.

I noticed the same in the Brave browser when entering something in a search box. In other apps it do works though… Anyway, you can proceed by clicking the top listing, because it shows the exact same as what you typed.

Right, in Firefox the top entry is only for searching the web with a search engine. If I type in or paste a URL and it is not something that shows up in the search engine I don’t have a way to get there

@miiiiiiiiiiiii & @pto123 I have the Brave Browser sideloaded in my Mudita Kompakt & I have not experienced any issues. My keyboard works fine. However, even though it’s OK on my end, I’m sorry to hear that you guys are experiencing issues & I wish I could help, but I’m not sure I can offer any guidance in this case. Our position on sideloading has been very transparent. We don’t encourage the use of sideloaded apps, because we cannot guarantee either their performance on the device, or the full performance of the device (operating speed, battery life, etc.) and convenience of use once such apps are installed on it. Perhaps the community can help with this issue.

. For now as a workaround I sideloaded a different keyboard and somehow managed to set it as the default one.
