Keyboard and languages

I got my Mudita kompakt - first impressions will follow. All in one an interesting device.
A problem arises instantly: I‘m multilingual, very often writing in german, russian and english. Sometimes in french. I can‘t add russian language to the keyboard. Is this a bug or is this configuration I‘ve missed somewhere?
Best Regards

It may not be included in the supported languages. You could sideload a different keyboard.

Same issue for me - I was surprised to find out that the keyboard layout options are so limited. I sideloaded a third party keyboard which seems to work, but feels clunky and inconvenient. When will e.g. nordic keyboards be supported?

Currently, this is not one of the supported languages in the Mudita Kompakt keyboard. I will pass your feedback on to the team. We have multi-language keyboard function and custom keyboard layouts per language, but there is no specific key personalization.

Yeah, really missing Finnish/Swedish layout!

@urszula Hopefully this can be escalated as an important feature!

@coeditor6209 I’ve been to Hradec Kralove at a Music Festival- Hip Hop Kemp. Twice. I drove there. Lovely town  They didn’t tell me about the Czech keyboard though LOL

Which keyboard did you download? I’m missing a Nordic keyboard, with letters æ, ø and å :frowning: Didn’t even think about this issue when buying, haha…

I have Gboard and it works very well

Haha same here, thought it would be such a standard feature on AOSP that it didn’t even cross my mind. Oh well I used FUTO Keyboard for a bit and it worked alright, but special characters by long press on the default keyboard is a decent workaround as well :+1:

I’m also waiting for russian (or belarusian) language support. I’m using my Mudita Kompakt more and more as my daily phone, and I really need russian keyboard to stay in touch with my family and friends.

For now, I’m considering sideloading AnySoftKeyboard or Simple Keyboard from F-Droid as a workaround, but native support would be much better for the E-ink experience.

Would love to see Russian (and Belarusian) added to the supported languages list!
