I live in the Netherlands and calling works perfectly fine. But as soon as I cross the border to in this case Belgium, the network doesn’t work anymore. With other phones it automatically switches to a network/carrier in that country. I can also not adjust anything manually. Advise anyone?
@gulickx Hmmm…this is interesting. Do you have roaming enabled on your device? I’ve traveled extensively with Mudita Kompakt & the device always switched seamlessly between networks- and this includes traveling between EU & non-EU.
how strange. I’m back now and it works perfect again. I didn’t try enabling roaming because that’s for internet and not for cellular/phonecall reception right?
@gulickx The issue at the moment is the dialog window to set the carrier selection to manual/automatic it has been removed by the devs.
It hasn’t happened to me with Kompakt yet, but with my 2nd sim in other phones in some countries I have the same issue where it should connect to a specific carrier otherwise it won’t work.
Since the dialog window it’s not there you can’t select the dialog manually if the auto mode doesn’t work properly. And from experience the auto mode doesn’t work properly in a lot of countries.
As you can read in this topic Urszula said that it will come on the next update. Theoretically should resolve this issue.
thanks for this @gezimos
@gulickx ROAMING is for both INTERNET/DATA & also for regular phone calls & texts.
I checked that just now and I realize why I didn’t try. It was not possible. When abroad, when I pressed the carrier line it didn’t open that menu so I couldn;t get to the roaming on/off area
@gulickx `

Just to confirm…
When you are abroad- roaming- you cannot do this:

`
Here in Amsterdam I can do it like that. But when I was in Belgium when pressing the mobile network line to get to the roaming part, it just did not respond, so I was not able to get in that menu
@gulickx Thank you for this info. This really helps. I’m off to talk to the team about it.
