Me and my friends send music back and forth constantly on a group chat. I got tired of not being able to copy links from the messages so I decided to try quik. It worked for an hour but then stopped letting me message group chats at all, but could still message individuals. Deleted and tried to use stock SMS instead but now it is doing the same thing on the stock SMS too. A little confused

@vioecan Thank you for reaching out. I have to admit, I’m not really sure what’s happening in your case. Can you be a bit more specific as to what you would like to do with these links? Or is this more about group message support?
Link handling in the native SMS app is not supported because there is not browser on Mudita Kompakt. There is no way to open the links. Additionally, group message support will be available in the next update.
Its not so much that I want to open the links, I understand that’s not possible. But it seems there is no way to copy texts on the sms app. Like I would just copy paste the links to my sideloaded browser app but it would also be useful to be able to copy what was written in a text to send to someone else or save to notes or something.
My issue was that I sideloaded quik SMS in order to have a little more group chat functionality but that only worked for about an hour then I lost group chat functionality completely, so I deleted quik because it’s a side-loaded app so not suprised it didn’t work perfect. But group chats still didn’t work on the stock SMS app either. I restarted the phone and got it working again but still it was weird.

@vioecan Now, I understand. So in the native SMS app, when you get a link as a text message and you press on it, so you get a copy symbol at the top:
Urszula is their timeline of if or when the stock sms tool will be improved? Any plans to improve responsiveness etc. Or for example giving us the choice to silence text messages only, separate from phone calls

Group message support will be implemented in the next update, which will happen still this fall. Right now, we’re on 1.3.0 & there were SMS fixes implemented in the app. When you get your phone make sure it’s updated until 1.3.0
Yup I got the phone, have had it since Wednesday, I am updated to the current version, I still ended up sideloading FUTO keyboard, I still find the stock keyboard to not be that great to be honest. I am hoping its improved over coming months but until then FUTO is a great keyboard

The copy button only appears on non-group threads. Group threads still show up in the current SW and kinda work (you can’t start your own yet, and I understand that is the next update). It seems odd that the copy button doesn’t show up in the group threads but does in 1-to-1 chats.
