I would like to add that we are extremely grateful all feedback messages, we’re taking everything into account, and based on the analysis we will determine the scope and order of development.
As soon as we summarize it, we will publish information on what we plan to implement and in what order.
any estimates when the analysis ends? ![]()
I think it’s been mentioned earlier this week that once they ship all out (i.e. NA Optimized?) they are going to evaluate feedback, prioritize and announce the plan.
@ovy & @buiosu Yes, that’s what we want to do. Right now, our focus is on delivering the North American Mudita Kompakts & gathering that crucial first wave of feedback.
Once we have things wrapped, we will know more about what people want, moving forward, but delivering the devices first is most important.
I’ve been reading a ton of topics, and I would like to thank you for all the answers you’ve given ! They’re always very nice, empathetic, and understanding, that’s so great !
Never have I felt so good following the progress of a product I already am in love with !
Thanks to you and to all the Mudita Team ! ![]()
Right now, our primary focus is on delivering Mudita Kompakt to our backers and supporters.
Alright, but what’s stopping the devs from fixing the bugs that have already been reported?
Are the devs busy packing phones as well? ![]()
Just look at how many updates have been released for the LP3 in just two weeks, and the device hasn’t been shipped to all backers/customers yet. Also, from my understanding, Mudita is a bigger company than Light…
I’m a bit grumpy about this, as I have had the device for almost two weeks and I haven’t seen a single update whatsoever despite many bugs were reported on this forum alone, and my return window will be closing as soon as Monday.
I believe that ultimately Mudita will deliver a good product, as they seem to have a clear vision…however, as someone else pointed out “Software will make or break the Kompakt.” and Mudita doesn’t seem to have the best track record with updates (Mudita Pure)
Don’t forget that Light has 5+ years of experience with the system of their phone, Mudita has just started with an android based phone.
Ok but there are things like the alarm being buggy and going off 5 minutes after the time set. That’s quite bad.
In my opinion, Mudita should post a list/table of all the known bugs they are actively working to resolve, possibly providing an estimate as well.
I know, my alarm is also off every morning. They have already addressed this, the only thing is left is patience and sideloading.
I do agree with your point that the Roadmap of updates shouldn’t be tied with shipping of the phones. This delay will cause people that are unhappy with some of the bugs to return the device without giving it a proper chance.
I also agree with the “Software will make or break the Kompakt” statement.
However I don’t agree with the Light Update comparison. That phone had a January launch officially and still doesn’t have any of the tool features they had promised are going to get an update after launch.
LightOS app & it’s included tools were just ported from LightPhone 2 which was developed from 2019 until 2024. So they actually have been also slow on updating LightPhone 3 with the bug fixes & feature updates.
I absolutely agree with you. Many of the promised features on the LP3 are still missing.
Anyway, the point of my comparison was to encourage Mudita to adopt a more frequent update approach, similar to Light’s.
Maybe it’s just me, but even small software updates make me happy and confident that a project is being actively maintained ![]()
Since Mudita K is closed source, we can’t see any of the commits or what the developers are working on.
I’ll very likely keep my Kompakt past the return window, but I do wish for more frequent updates and a roadmap…that’s all
Minimal Phone has lost so much consumer confidence due to the delays in shipping, so I appreciate Mudita focusing on it (as someone still waiting for the phone)
@starvin_fish Thank you so much for the kind words. It really means a lot to us to hear this ![]()
@simonepsp Yes, our devs are working on the bugs. It’s difficult for me to comment how long it takes to fix a particular bug, because I’m not a dev. I did forward this question to our team for a more clear and definitive response. Maybe @Sharaz can jump on here and offer some more info.
I know Mudita has been hesitant to make statements about what they will actively develop until they collect user input after phones have veen recieved.
I do think keeping a list of know bugs somewhere and which ones are being actively worked on would give users some peace of mind. Completion dates seems unrealistic as some will be easier fixes than others. Once they are fixed, they could be marked complete and there would be a record of the active work that has already been done.
Then once user feed back has been collected, a similar features list could be kept. The ‘roadmap’ as it has been referred to.
All the info could be listed on a single webpage for ease of viewing.
@jawn Thanks for the feedback. Yes, we know how important this is to our community. We did communicate on specific individual issues/features when they were brought up on the FORUM, but I do understand that users do want a more & concise plan. We are working on it.
