Hey gang, probably from fiddling around with sideloading, I am getting an “Intent Filter Verification Service App stopped working” notice pop-up on my device. I read that you can sometimes fix this issue by clearing the cache/storage for that app, but when I go into the app management (including the app manager app I downloaded), I’m not able to clear the cache. Any suggestions. Thanks for reading and for all your help.
I have the same issue, at random times on Mudita apps and menu/settings screens too.
To see if we can work out the problem app My sideloaded apps are - Gboard, Whatsapp, Organic Maps, Onecalendar, GMaps WV, Thunderbird.
It happens when all are forced close too however…
Just replying to bump this thread in case anyone found a solution. I don’t want to have to do a factory reset. Thanks for your help peoples.
@jasinw I actually asked our team about this & they are curious about all the other sideloaded apps that you have on your phone? Perhaps it’s something that we have not yet considered.
I have this problem as well. I have been sideloading apps on my phone with everything and everything to see what combination of apps I want to settle with. I have installed Whatsapp, Gboard, Google Chrome (works well) , F-droid, Google Maps (works well), Thunderbird, Stratum (Authenticator Pro), Tailscale, Spotify, Beeper, microG (via f-droid) and uninstalling any or all does not prevent the popup notifications from popping up. The frequency of popups does change when I delete the microg and Google related apps.
But what does help (temporarily) is going into Developer Options and then searching for “Intent Filter Verification Service” then Force Stop and I am then spared the popups for many (6+ )hours.
Strangely I have not had any popups now for probably a week and I don’t recall doing anything!
I think I solved it. I was troubleshooting using adb and ChatGPT to look at error logs and it looked like mudita messenger was causing the error because it wasn’t set as my default messenger. I have been using google messenger. So I disabled the mudita default messenger and so far that seems to have done the trick.
