- Download Activity Launcher from f-droid
- click on the settings app, com.android.settings
- search for Notifications, launch .Settings$NotificationAppListActivity
- click “Launch Activity”
- scroll to your app, click it, find the notification you want to disable, and turn it off
I did this for Signal’s background connection. Works great. You can uninstall activity launcher afterward.
