@tmaes I apologize for the delay. The app is ready, even my Google dev account has been approved and I wanted to publish it on both Github and Google at the same time, just been dealing with some personal issues which stopped me from finishing the website and a video I had planned.
I’m also moving, so I hope I can release it fully this week. Again sorry for the delay, I had planned to release this in March

@shadock Phone calls with the default Mudita Phone app never worked in inkOS. The reason is how Mudita phone handles notifications, this app does not post a notification and the system removes it immediately. In v0.3 and v0.4 in Letters screen I’ve made it so it caches the notification and it just says “notification received” because it doesn’t get caller name or other details.
This won’t work in home, so you’ll still not get any asterisk because the home notifications read the system notifications and do not cache them.
Sorry it was always like this, it bothered me as well
@tmaes If I remember correctly with Fossify Phone the notification went properly. It’s not perfect because it has smooth scrolling but it doesn’t look bad in E-ink screen
thank you for the quick answer, I tested it buy I get no missed phone call notification on the home apps display, for sms I get notifications there wether on sms app or fossify messages app do I have to reset something to make it work?
thanks again in advance

@tmaes I might have mixed it up with a different app which I can’t remember. But I know that Google Phone app for sure has worked on all phones that I’ve tested including the Kompakt. And i’ve tested with other AOSP phones that have a default phone app it worked on those as well, tested different versions in emulators.
Hi gezimos, thanks for your great work. I have been using this launcher for a long time and it is amazing and makes the Mudita Kompakt so much more usable.
I updated to version 0.5 but I am not able to open the settings menu of InkOS. I tried all kinds of swipes and pinches and also tried using scrcpy to control the phone through my computer but it still doesn’t work. Either nothing happens or the launcher crashes and restarts - can’t even send the bug report because the button doesn’t work. I also restarted the phone…
Edit: I cleared cache and storage and now it works. (Backup your settings just in case is an important tip!) Thanks again for this great launcher.

Hey Tobias, i‘m not sure why the issue is appearing.
I’ve tested the pinch to zoom out in all kinds of devices from 2.4 inch to big tablets. The only “conflict” that I can think people are having is trying to pinch over apps, while the “extend clickable area” toggle in Home settings is on.
Pinch to zoom just just like the longpress works in empty areas. So I assume after resseting the “extend clickable area” has been disabled, which is why the pinch is working again.
And as always you can also have inkOS settings as a shortcut in the appdrawer. If you don’t want to deal with the pinch, and even set that shortcut as a gesture action like double tap or a swipe
I’m happy you were able to resolve it, and happy that you’re liking the launcher. Thanks for the review!
What is the best way to update the version on my Kompakt? I just downloaded akp from github, but for some reason mudita center isn’t able to move the file over? Not sure where I am running into a problem. Is there a way to update within the phone? 0.4 inkos on the phone, 1.5 muditaos, and UTD mudita center

@wbieber I’m not sure if you’re the same person who contacted me on Reddit, but I’ll reply here as well:
There’s no internal updater at the moment, so you’ll have to update manually.
Just reinstall the new apk, it will update automatically over the existing one. (using Mudita Center)
If you by any chance use AuroraStore, inkOS will appear there (since it’s in Google play) that way you can manage updates directly on the device without having to download the new apk everytime.
Third option is Obtainium, which is an app that is used to update Github released apps, you add the repo to the App and then it will show you if there’s an update and allows you to update directly there.
@gezimos I’ve just started using beeper and it seems it messages only appear on notification (the *, the notification when swiping left and also the numbers next to bell symbol) after I open the beeper app. I can’t seem to find a way to set up the push notification in the rightway. Do you know what to do?
Ah your last sentence explains it. all the other things you mention are set the right way but it’s not me it’s beeper and I cannot do anything about that. Thanks
