How to update Whatsapp on Mudita Kompakt

Hi all,

Their is a new version of Whattsapp out and I am being prompted on my Kompakt to install it.

Obviously I cant because i have no browser or app store.

Does anyone know the process here? Do I have to get the old version off the phone first , then sideload the newer APK?

Or will side loading the newer APK just automatically update the Whattsapp app that is already on the device?

Also i see that the Mudita Centre desktop app know has a function for loading APP or APK files directly onto the Kompakt. What would I need to do once I have used this new facility to put across an APK file for it to actually install the app on the phone?

So normally how ti works is that if you have gotten the official apk from Whatsapp site you can just apply the update manually by re-installing it. And it should save all your data/account like it was.

I personally use Aurora store to manage the big apps that have frequent updates like: Whatsapp, Signal, Viber.

The rest of the apps that are on F-droid I get and manage/update from there.
