How to Set the SD Card as Default Storage Option

To the bold and knowledgeable,

When I transfer files to my MK, save images send to me via message or take photos, I’d like the SD card to be the default option. I’ve searched Developer Options, but can’t work out how to do this. Is this possible? If someone knows, would you please provide the steps to enable this.

  • Download Activity Manager
  • Find “Files” on the list - it will allow you to open Android Files app that are already on the phone but hidden
  • On the left side, choose memory card
  • Click three dots
  • Set memory card as internal memory
    This is not exactly the perfect solution (because you might want to keep memory card as external storage) but it will make your phone save photos and anything using memory card.

I’d like to bump this thread to raise it again to Mudita.

I gather that battery replacements will require shipping the phone back to Poland. In that event, I imagine (but would appreciate it if someone could confirm) that personal data would be accessible on it.

In the meantime, I’d like to configure the following apps to use my SD card as default storage option:

  • Camera and OpenCamera
    /DCIM/

  • Molly
    /Download/Molly

  • Videos
    /Movies

  • Images
    /Pictures

  • SyncThing
    /syncthing
