How to rollback to 1.1.1?

I knew that updating to 1.2.0 while there are so many bug reports wasn’t the smartest idea, especially because there was nothing I really need in this update… And I still did update about 3 weeks ago. First 2 weeks were alright, but then camera app crashed for the first time, and since then it seems to happen every time I need to make a picture. I do know about permissions fix, and it does fix it… just until it happens again. It is extremely irritating and I do not understand why there was no hotfix released (I work in software engineering and that’s what one does when their update breaks previously working functionality – fixes it asap).

Anyway, rant aside. As far as I understand the only way to rollback the update is a factory reset. And I have some questions to Mudita support and those of you who did the factory reset.

  1. Is there an option to update to 1.1.1 after the reset (or is update only offers 1.2.0 since it is the latest version)?
  2. How do I preserve my data? Will backup from 1.2.0 work on 1.1.0 and/or 1.1.1?
  3. Did you encounter any issues related to the factory reset?

For the Camera crash I perhaps have a solution.
I’ve seen in the last days but not really retested that, if I unlock my Kompakt before putting it Offline in the evening and in the morning, unlocked it before putting Online, I don’t have the crash.
Before that I had the crash each day at the first pic.
Maybe it helps.

Thanks for the tip! I actually discovered a similar workaround shortly after posting this. If you toggle Offline+ ON then open camera app and then toggle Offline+ OFF, camera works with no issues. I double checked out of curiosity by manually disabling “Camera access” in the settings, and the order of actions above enables it. Toggling Offline+ ON also helps to get out of the crash loop if I forget to toggle it preventively. This is still mildly annoying, but I can live with it, so I won’t bother with the rollback.
