I’m having an issue with my Kompakt (NA version). I had 3 MMS group chats going on and they have suddenly disappeared from the SMS app. I didn’t delete them. I’m still, however, receiving notifications from MMS messages as I am hearing the ringtone and the number on the SMS icon keeps going up. It’s now at 9 unread messages but I am unable to find any of them. Has anybody else ran in to this missing group chat issue?
I’m hoping it’s a setting I accidently toggled!
I found @jmash had the same problem! I had some spam texts and I blocked the numbers and when this happened it hid all the group chats. Unblocking the numbers worked. Hopefully Mudita is aware and working out this bug.
“I have found a solution that works for me regarding group messages not showing up and having a permanent notification number on the sms app. You need to block a number, then go into Settings → blocked numbers and remove it. Literally any phone number will work, you could probably just block and unblock 9999 or something. After doing this my group messages show back up. Not sure why this works but I was trying literally everything and found that this worked.” - jmash
Yes, others have run into this issue. There are several bugs in the native “SMS” app. Mudita announced that it plans to address many related to group messaging in “Fall 2025”; meanwhile, I recommend that you sideload the “QUIK” app via F-Droid. It is a good replacement for the native app while we wait for Mudita to address the defects and deficits.
Works great I really like the interface of this app, and you can record voice notes, also am I correct in assuming I would see missed messages on the front wallpaper in the sms app anymore correct? Because I am no longer using the stock sms app, I don’t mind that actually to be honest I wish there was a way to remove the ability to see any missed notifications besides phone calls
I am guessing as well if I want to mute text notifications I can right? Because can I not forcestop QUICK app, meaning I would not get any notification sounds?
Yes, you will see an unread-text-messages tally-disk in the upper-right corner of the native “SMS” app, even though you are now using the “QUIK” app instead.
Even if I have force stopped the app? I am hoping this prevents notifications because then I have a work around for always getting text notification sounds, I really hate that and to me defeats the purpose of the phone, if I am trying to work I want to hear phone calls not text message sounds as well
I was delighted to see this, given that I have used this on my Sunbeam Wireless flip-phone to send – in a very simple way! – audio messages to people via texting!
Thanks so much for telling me about this this app, has made the phone so much better to use, now when I need to focus, I am not interrupted my text notifications, especially like it when I am at the library, the kompakt now stays in my bag out of site but with the ringer on so i can respond to any calls.
More good news: When you decline a call by responding with one of the four quick messages that you have on the native “Phone” app’s Settings > Quick Messages page, the “Phone” app WILL USE the sideloaded “Quik” app to send that quick message via SMS to the person whose call you are declining.
Put simply, declining a call with a quick message still works when you are using the “Quik” app instead of the native “SMS” app!
