Favorite tools of daily life/EDC

These are my favorite tools right now. I’m so happy with making the switch from iPhone to the Kompakt. I also love how it looks together with my Mudita Moment watch. I use the Kompakt for phone calls, hot spot, meditation timer, and for sending texts, with Signal, Spotify, Discord (which is needed for my school :frowning: )and my local public transit app sideloaded. The other device is my Supernote Nomad which I use as my planner, bullet journal, note-taker, and e-book reader. What does your EDC look like for those of you who have the Kompakt, or other minimalist devices?

I also have the Supernote Nomad and absolutely love it!! May I ask, which pen is this? I just purchased the DIY kit pre-tarriff raise in pricing (and now I see its sold out on the site, so glad I purchased beforehand) and been trying to think of what to do for the pen. I currently use one of theirs, but I’d like to make my own. Will be making my new folio soon!

My EDC definitely consists of my Supernote Nomad & a Kobo Clara 2E for reading. Still trying to figure which phone is for me between LP3 & Kompakt.

It varies greatly by day, but I usually carry a watch, Mudita Kompakt, a wallet, and a reMarkable Pro for note taking. I often carry my Apple MBP as well.
I’m still “transitioning” to the MK so I also carry my iPhone 16 Pro Max as a backup, just in case haha

My sideloaded apps:

  • F-droid
  • Currencies
  • DAVx5 (icloud sync)
  • Etar calendar
  • Fossify Keyboard
  • Molly (Signal FOSS client)
  • QR Scanner
  • Tasks.org
  • You have mail (a minimal protonmail notification client)
  • Niagara Launcher

Hi pugly, not sure if you saw my last response, but I’m really interested in your pen for your nomad when you have chance. Which diy is this?

Oh sorry, I forgot to answer  The pen is the Lamy Al-star EMR pen in palladium, with a titanium nib. I also have a HOM pen but I wanted one with an eraser button. The lamy came with a plastic nib (I think) which I didn’t like the writing feel of at all, but with the titanium nib it’s as good as the ceramic nib.

Oh, I’ve also been thinking of making my own folio! I bought my supernote from another person so I got the blue canvas folio which I don’t like at all. I will either buy a new white one, or make one with their DIY kit.

That must be so hard choosing between LP3 and the Kompakt. For me the choice was easy because I need some apps that aren’t available on the light phone, and I want a meditation timer on my phone. The LP3 was also too expensive with the customs fees you get when you live in the EU. The LP3 looks so good though!

No problem! I appreciate your reply :relieved:

Ah, I see. I really like the body of it. I also bought my supernote from another person and it also came with the blue folio. The pen that came is the white one with the ceramic nib.
Yeah, I hate that my pen is on the outside of the folio. So, I bought myself one on Etsy and it just came yesterday. I still have to use the diy kit with it. For the pen, I didn’t get the lamy diy, but just the normal one. Do you know the difference between the lamy and regular anyway?

Totally valid! I’m waiting for my Lp3 pre-order first before ordering Mudita’s. I feel like once I have it in my hands, I can decide then.

Is that a Breguet Tradition? Looks like it…

Wow, I’m glad someone noticed
Yes, that’s my favorite piece in the collection.

I got it at the Breguet boutique in Dubai Mall a few years ago

Since I like to look into other people’s bags, I’d like to give you a glimpse into mine as well. This is the gear for the larger bag. When I’m out and about with the smaller one, I forgo my iPod, camera, and notebook.

Oh, I didn’t know that you could get the Deutschlandticket as a physical card. I have to use a public transport app for mine (which works on the MK…but still a physical card would be much nicer). I have it as an auto-renewing job ticket linked with the company I work for though so I don’t know if it’s possible.

Oh, and that camera looks awesome! :star_struck:

I get it the exact same way as you. I was never asked whether I wanted it physically or digitally. In any case, I’m happy to have it in card form.

film camera?

these days everything is digital first, unless you ask, in which case they often have some hidden alternative.

you’re setup is not dissimilar to mine, just different makes for the different things
