Alright cool let me know once you’ve tried it!
I guess I’ll just have stick to my old phone until there’s more clarity on this.

i used during some time a esim , but im changing phones very often to test and try other OS and i decide now to get a physical sim, i just have esim with data
ps: So far I only have two small defects that are not really that serious, one of them is that I use an operator recently created in Portugal which is DIGI PT and many phones in the APN settings put the information of another operator that used the MCC and MCN now assigned to DIGI, luckily the internet APN is the same but it was not serious either. and because of this configuration I don’t have VOLTE on this sim, the other is when a sim loses network it doesn’t change automatically which would be wonderful

Yeah that might be the best, I just switched to eSIM to use it with Kompakt.

I did some further research, and I noticed that the IMEI 2 shows blank in settings (About section). Also there’s no EID, which is related to eSIM. Could be that it’s been hidden in OS K, but I find this quite suspicious - could be related to why SIM2 and eSIM don’t work.

Could you check if you have those visible?

Okay thanks for checking! This is getting interesting.

@urszula, should I submit a support ticket about this, or could you check this from the team? My About page looks like this - is it normal?

@anoniononioning Yes, Please submit a ticket for this. I’m not sure what’s happening in your case,

For an update, I got a response from customer service and it indeed seems that there is something wrong with my device. It’ll be a warranty case, so I recommend you to contact Mudita if you haven’t already done so @tobias1988

I have the same problem that i cant add my second E Sim. I cant add it via QR-Code and my Carrier said that i need to give them the EID NR. of the device to add it. Idk if it is only my device, but it seems suspicious, that there is no EID number visible, because my carrier said, that this is mandatory for E-Sim to work. I think this is mostly the problem for the people who have this problem.

I had an issue getting my eSIM to work and following a call to my carrier’s customer services was told I had to pop in to an EE store (or wait for a new one through the post). I went to the store and they told me there is a specific issue that many people with iPhones have moving specifically from iPhone to android (I was their 3rd that morning). They were able to sort it with a new eSIM in a couple of minutes

Thanks for the information. I already ordered a physical SIM card from my carrier (needed to pay some fees for that) and now it works fine. I don’t really need eSIM.

Should I be worried that something else is affected by having this eSIM problem?

Okay good to hear that SIM 2 works for you, then the issue isn’t the same as I have.

I can’t think of any other issues that the eSIM issue might cause, but keep that in mind if anything comes up.

One simple (and hopefully not stupid) question regarding the switch back and forth to eSIM:
As I understand it, by default, the eSIM feature is deactivated and a second hardware SIM can be used. With a software switch, that hardware SIM can be ignored and the eSIM is activated and can then be downloaded to the device from the network operator (that is, if a compatible interface is working). How many eSIM profiles can you store on the Kompakt?
What happens to the profile(s) once you switch back to the second hardware SIM slot - will the profiles be deleted, so they would have to be re-downloaded once the eSIM feature is activated again?
Did anyone try that, perhaps?

@pang840 Let me make sure I understand this correctly. Are you asking about switching between the physical SIM slot and the eSIM, and how eSIM profiles are handled when switching?

Exactly! Especially if any eSIM profile could be lost while doing so (as it would be a bit hard to try it myself)…

@pang840 Let me see if I can answer this so that it’s more clear.

Here’s how it works on the Mudita Kompakt:

  • By default, the eSIM is deactivated, and you can use two physical SIMs (SIM1 + SIM2).
  • If you activate the eSIM via software, the second physical SIM slot (SIM2) is disabled, and you can download an eSIM profile from your network operator (assuming a compatible interface is working).
  • Currently, Mudita Kompakt supports one eSIM profile (either active or temporarily disabled). We’re working on expanding this to support up to 6–10 stored profiles in the future.
  • Good news: Switching back to the second hardware SIM does not delete your eSIM profile. It’s saved on the eSIM chip, so when you re-enable the eSIM, your profile is still there and ready to be used again.

So, in total, you can add up to three numbers to your Kompakt, with two active at a time (SIM1 + either SIM2 or eSIM).

Hopefully this makes sense.

Thanks, that information was exactly what I was looking for. :bouquet:
Would be great to have more than one eSIM profile in the future, too. Some travel eSIMs with long or even unlimited validity have great prices for certain regions, but not for others, so sometimes it’s helpful to be able to swap these profiles instead of losing them.

I had a problem in germany to activate an o2 esim profile that at the end I put in my plastic-sim and activated the e-sim on the old smartphone
