Bluetooth devices vanish after disconnect

I never had in issue with my Bluetooth headset before 1.2. But with the update I’m also not able to connect them anymore. I strongly hope Mudita will fix this before September!

The Bluetooth Widget app from the Aurora store which @gezimo has mentioned helps, it just lists existing profiles and let’s you connect manually. :woman_shrugging:

@tilmanbergt, it sounds like you’d like to see the list of stories that comprise releases. I’ve never seen companies do this, but I must say, I like the sound of it.

After a couple of days of testing, I’m happy to report that the bluetooth connection does indeed seem quite consistent after a fresh pairing, even when connecting to other devices in between. I have a pair of Sony WF-1000xm5’s. Have others noticed any such improvements?

this is a briliant solution. i have no clue about how complicated is the backend of bluetooth, but I’ve never experienced that before and i feel completely dumbstruck O_o

I don’t understand any of these work arounds, none of the apps mentioned are in the Aurora Store. Every app I dowloaded, I cannot understand what’s happening on it. I don’t get why this stuff is so hard with this device. Like basic phone stuff just doesn’t work. I can no longer pair blue tooth devices? And to do so I have to learn the ins and outs of complicated digital software? I bought this phone cause I am burnt out on all that. It isn’t supposed to do much. Can’t it just do those things well?

Have you tried deleting the paired devices & pairing again?

What others issues are you experiencing? Can you please be a bit more specific so that I can try to help.

Bluetooth Audio Connect Widget

It’s in Aurora Store, it’s made for widget but if you open the app it will show your previous devices and allow you to reconnect to them.

Or check if your earphones have a companion app, and use that. In my case it works with nothing earphones.

I think you forgot but we’ve been talking about this issue for moths now. When you disconnect a connected device you can’t reconnect it again as your developers like to delete stuff that they consider unnecessary. (for example bluetooth history dialog)

Same like they did with the accessibility tools.

God bless you, I feel like your job seems to be to frantically clean up messes that are not your fault and listen to people complain about them. My bluetooth devices are no longer listed among paired devices so I cannot delete them. Each time I try to repair It only lists devices I have never previously paired — it feels mocking that it always recognizes my blender? (I haven’t the slighted clue what connecting to my vitamix would do) but not my headphone.

Additional problems are that I can never open photos someone sends to me. They just never load. It didn’t bother me too much I just tell people I can’t receive photos but it would be nice if I could, but my mind does not comprehend digital tech well and I don’t really understand much of this stuff.

Try the app I mentioned above it’s in Aurora Store. It works
They missed this in the last update but they said they will fix it in 1.3.0 which comes in September or October or something. Super slow

This did work. I was looking for Unpair all app and Bluetooth Viewer app. Thanks for taking the time to give me a stopgap for the time being.

Some of those are in external sites as APKs and F-Droid store.
But glad you got it working!

@gezimos I know this is an ongoing issue, but there was a post a few days ago that AFTER the update, when you delete a paired device & then pair it again, the result is much better.
I have to admit, I had issues before & now after the update, my Sony headphones reconnect without a problem. That’s why I asked.

Mine do connect as well, but it’s because i have the earphone app installed on my phone.
And it’s not an issue only with earphones, but other bluetooth devices like a mouse, keyboard.

The lack of the Bluetooth history dialog is the problem, because not all bluetooth devices behave the same. Some are very low power and do not seek automatic reconnection to save power.

Plus I use my earphones in multiple devices, automatically they’ll connect to the last device. But in a normal bluetooth dialog you click on them (within the bluetooth dialog) and call them to reconnect to the phone (if they support multiple devices like mine do).

So one small issue was fixed in the last update, but it is still frustrating. This should have never passed the testing let alone be sent in two OTA updates.

the problem is, that the list of saved devices is missing on Kompakt, so as @gezimos said, it’s not possible to connect Bluetooth devices manually in a multi device setup.

it should look like this:

@gezimos Thank you explaining this. I have a pretty minimalist setup, so now I have a clear picture of what is happening…

Yeah and this biggest reason this is important is if you have any other device you pair your Bluetooth device/headphones with, when you go back to your kompakt you cannot pair it because your headphones are remembering the other device, and there is no way force your kompakt to search for them again or forget the device essentially making it impossible to use.

I am still experiencing the same issue as other individuals even after the update.
