Thanks! I just read here, too, about cognitive shuffling.
If people are reading this thread, it’s a safe assumption that they’d like to improve their sleep. I don’t want to hijack this thread, but in that spirit of helping and sharing, forgive me for throwing in a titbit I happened upon recently: walnuts! Walnuts are a rare food that contain melatonin which is the chemical our body produces to help us feel sleepy. So, for about a fortnight now I’ve been munching on half a dozen 1-2 hours before bed and, I must say, the early signs are a noticeable uptick in sleep. You must keep to other sleep hygiene discipline, of course, but if you’re looking for low effort option, give this a try.
Sleep well.
I will add pistachios to the that list ![]()
Pistachios are among the highest plant-based food sources of melatonin, containing approximately 660 nanograms per gram (ng/g).
Thanks @urszula! Why isn’t this stuff better known? I could have used this information a decade ago.
@petemeister I don’t think there is a huge Pistachio Lobby that is really intent on you buying A LOT of pistachios for the rest of your life. LOL
@urszula We’ve spotted a niche in the market. FoodsThatMakeYouDrowsy.com
