Basic none-social features

This sounds to me like a distopia. Although I’m a fan of technology. Freedom is much more important to me. And that’s also why I bought Kompakt, to encourage diversity. After all, we are all different and I don’t want to live in a world where I won’t be able to breathe without apps and phones.

I totally agree! I’d love to have a payment app but ONLY if it doesn’t compromise security and privacy at all. I’d rather carry my wallet with me than having another atention and privacy stealing phone in the market.

@marko Good thoughts and comments, but are you talking about where you would like Mudita to go or have Mudita actually said that what you are saying is the point of the product?

Because I bought the phone because I wanted all the benefits of a digital society, but not any of the noise and interruptions.

Kompakt still puts me in charge, even if it works for paying for groceries or start my car.

Or to turn your statement around; why have you bought a phone with all the functionality of a digital world like NFC, shared internet and so on if you want something none-digital?

I have not tried it. I have a Garmin DriveSmart 65 with HD Traffic that I use for driving. I sideloaded HERE WeGo to my Kompakt for two reasons:

  1. As a backup when I am with another driver who needs navigational assistance
  2. For its “directory” feature – i.e., I can look up any business and get a telephone number, the type of business, and the hours that the business is open (In other words, HERE WeGo has a points-of-interest (POI) database.)

I took a drive with Here We Go today, and it worked great. Found the business I was looking for and the navigation experience was perfectly ok.

I am having poor battery performance though (~1.5 days despite very light usage), and my only guess is it’s related to side loading a few apps. Other than that no issues.
