Am I missing something or is there a way to shut off alarm (which is deep press of center knob). without deactivating the alarm for the following day. if I use snooze then it will go off again in a few minutes which would disturb my sleep partner. I am new to this clock and while I like many things about it, I need it to be a dependable alarm clock over everything else and this is one feature that makes me insecure when I go to sleep that my alarm might not be set
You’re not missing anything, this is intentional.
On Mudita Harmony, turning the alarm on is meant to be a conscious, physical action. Using the buttons is part of the bedtime ritual and a signal to the brain that it’s time to sleep, rather than a passive setting running in the background.
Because of that design:
- A deep press of the center knob fully turns the alarm off (The orange band is either visible or NOT visible)
- Snooze is the only option that keeps the alarm active
This avoids any ambiguous states where the alarm might or might not be set. Either it’s clearly on, or clearly off.
Many users build a simple habit of turning the alarm on as the last step before bed and checking the alarm indicator. Over time, that physical confirmation tends to feel more dependable than a hidden software setting.
Your concern makes sense though, especially if you share a bed, and it’s valuable feedback we’re taking seriously.
thank you for the thoughtful reply.
Unfortunately, there are many times where I do not need a bedtime ritual as I am already tired and drop myself in bed to fall asleep immediately. Under these circumstances my sleep quality is disturbed because I am unsure of the alarm’s setting. The non illuminated nature of the clock, another intentional nice feature, makes it difficult to glance over and see the nicely designed and greatly appreciated orange band.
If the intended goal of the clock can accommodate a change in this feature, my vote would be for this in the future
addendum: I am working on ensuring that when I do turn it off I immediately turn it back on as you state. I will see if this habit helps with my anxiety regarding this
@GoldenBear Thank you for this feedback. I will definitely pass this on to the team.
