Adding File Access for an App

Hi, sorry in advance if this is an obvious one.

I have been using the app Smart Audiobook Player. It was working well until recently, where it is no longer able to access my files.

When I go to add my Audiobook folder, it says “To protect your privacy, choose another folder” and no longer allows me to browse my file structure and select a folder.

Any ideas? I assume this changed with the new OS update, but haven’t been able to figure out how to restore file/storage access to the app.

@wordsaway Have you tried another audiobook player. It might not be the phone, but the app itself.

I use this one & it works well:

I can get others to work, but I would also prefer this one to work - it worked very well for me, and now it doesn’t.

@wordsaway Totally understandable. I was just suggesting it for troubleshooting purposes. What I, sometimes, noticed with stand-alone apps is that they start having issues when they need updating and sometime we just don’t realize we’re using an older version. It’s worth checking that out as well.

Updating didn’t fix it. I also uninstalled and reinstalled and it made things worse.

I’m sorry to hear that. You might also want to reach out to our tech support at [email protected]
They will most likely ask for logs to see what’s happening “under the hood” that’s not making this app work.

Uf that doesn’t work, the last ditch effort I would try is to do a factory rest & then install again. But I would make sure I do a backup of my phone first & be prepared to set up all the apps from scratch. Otherwise
