I grabbed the Mudita Kompakt because I want to get my life back and stop staring at a screen so much. This phone is definitely a GIFT. After sideloading some apps on the phone, I decided to sideload a screen time app to keep track of my screen time. I know I won’t scroll or watch Youtube on this device, but I also want to be intentional about reducing pickups and screen time in general. The app I finally landed on was OffScreen. Other apps were good, but they required a little floating banner on the screen at all times. OffScreen doesn’t do this, so that’s a plus. It tracks pickups, screen time, etc.
I hope I won’t get shunned in this community for sharing this. Just wanted to share what I learned with anyone who might be interested.
I monitor my screen time on my kompakt as well but not with an app, More so just with behaviour change. So when I am out I keep in a bag , off my person. At home when I am watching tv, reading a book etc, and I know I don’t need to be reached then I have it off in another room. Dumbphone , smartphone, regardless I encourage everyone to break the habit of phone checking whenever we are bored even if its just checking text messages on the kompakt
I don’t have a problem, yes, I know, an alcoholic will say that about their drinking… phones are a tool, to me, and this is just my opinion, it’s silly to use an app to track, I turn off everything on every device, the Kompakt phone came loaded with a lot more than I need. I like the people in this forum, it’s interesting to get perspective from others.
Screen time tallies should include TV, PC, tablets…
