I no longer have a Google ID, which YouTube now requires when I click [Play] on any YouTube video (at youtube.com or elsewhere) while using a VPN. I refuse to turn off my VPN simply to watch a YouTube video.

Interesting. You could watch with a YouTube scrapper account like Freetube or Invidious. Just FYI. I wonder why it’s blocking your VPN (which one is it, proton works without issues for me)

You have a Google ID, so you will not get blocked.

I am talking about my machines that are completely Google free. I have a linux distro that I don’t use any google and I use Freetube and Proton with no issues.

There you go: You are using Freetube with a VPN, instead of going to YouTube.com or watching a YouTube video embedded in someone else’s site. I am aware of Freetube, and that works with my VPN, too. The beauty of Rumble is I need not go through those gymnastics on my computer.

@kirkmahoneyphd I’ll ask Jose about alternative platforms. Typically Live streams can stay up on YT for viewing later, but you miss the opportunity to engage & interact live.

This is great, thankyou! I just noticed that information about tethering/hotspot with Kompakt is missing from the Kickstarter page. It would be great to discuss tethering capability on this YT live, if it is still part of Kompakt or if it has been removed/delayed?

@galtions That’s an oversight. I just checked with our team & nothing has changed on the launch roadmap. It was part of the sneak peeks & it will be included. We’ll make sure it’s on there ASAP.

@RasVoja I think, since it’s a LIVE, people will ask questions as we go. They may have already been covered on the video from the FORUM, but not everyone is on the FORUM.
