Will the Pure phone and Mudita OS work as advertised?

Hi everyone, I’ve been following the project for a few months now and from what we can see, it looks like an amazing job has been done.

However, here’s my concern. Over the past couple years a few other minimalist phones have been developed, and at the end either their OS and/or their hardware have proven to be failures. The Punkt phone had good design and hardware but is said to be so buggy that it makes it unusable. Same for the Light Phone 2, that started with a great idea but ended up having to compromise and hurry too much, sacrificing on the original design and making the OS functional. Finally the Blloc phone, although not in the same category, but a good example as the OS was great but the hardware was crap.

So how can we make sure that both the custom hardware and software you’re developing will work properly on the long run? When will we be able to really see the phone in action (not renders or simulations)? What about that desktop app that you claim will fill the gap between the Pure phone and smartphones? Any demo or screenshot?
How will your technical support work? Will it be based in Poland?

It just think it’s time for the backers to get a little more than promises and a cute Youtube video.

Thanks for your time and keep up the good work.

Hi @nfer,

Thanks for your comment. We’ve been following the news regarding our competitors and are doing every thing we can to prevent such issues with Mudita Pure.
At this moment we have a working prototype, but still it has to be improved. We shared a short video of the working prototype on our Kickstarter Page: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mudita/mudita-pure-your-minimalist-phone (please scroll down to see it in the ‘Building prototype’ section).
Next year (1Q2020) we will have a working pre-final prototype. We’ve also published a short video showing how the desktop application works. You can find it here: https://youtu.be/wHMn6s7jcLA. The best way to be up to date with all information on the next stages of phone production is to sign up for our newsletter: www.mudita.com/#newsletter
We will launch technical support as soon as the phone enters the market. The phone will also have a basic warranty on components.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
