I am using Kompakt on the at&t network in the US. On my iphone I was able to use wifi calling without turning on my cellular connection (I am often working in the basement). It appears that Kompakt requires me to connect to the cellular network when using wifi calling. Is there any way to break free of this restriction, i.e., activate wifi calling with the airplane mode on and with wifi on? Thank you for listening.

I asked Google? I think more specific setting instructions would help you, but its capable
Yes, the Mudita Kompakt supports Wi-Fi calling [1, 2, 3]. Despite being a minimalist “dumb phone” designed to reduce screen time, Mudita built modern network features into its custom, de-Googled operating system (MuditaOS K).
Essential Connectivity Features
- Wi-Fi Calling & VoLTE: It includes native support for making calls over both Wi-Fi networks and 4G LTE networks. [1, 2]
- Regional Optimizations: The phone is sold in distinct versions (such as the North American version) to ensure its network features line up correctly with local carriers like T-Mobile or AT&T. [1, 2]
- The Offline+ Physical Switch: The phone features a slider on the side that physically disconnects Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular data, and the microphone for complete privacy. You must ensure this switch is turned off if you want to use Wi-Fi calling. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
