Wifi Calling Doesn't Kick In Automatically After Losing Signal — Requires Restart (Mint Mobile/T-Mobile)

I work in an underground lab with no cell signal, so Wifi Calling is essential for me. Wifi Calling is always enabled on my phone, but I’ve noticed it doesn’t reliably switch over automatically when I go from having signal above ground to losing it and connecting to Wifi below.

Here’s what happens: I connect to Wifi in the lab, try to send a text, and it just sits on “Sending” for a long time before eventually failing. That’s usually my first sign that Wifi Calling isn’t working. The only fix is restarting my phone — after that, calls and texts go through fine over Wifi.

Has anyone else run into this? I’m on Mint Mobile (T-Mobile network). Wondering if this is a carrier-side issue, a phone/OS issue, or something specific to how Wifi Calling handshakes when signal drops out abruptly rather than fading gradually.

I have to ask because it’s important since behavior of the phone can change from update to update.
People will write about issues that they are experiencing, which are caused by not having an updated device and once the Mudita Kompakt is updated, the issue is fixed. Also, when I reach out to the team for help with troubleshooting , they always ask about the MuditaOS K version & I can’t just assume…cuz you know how saying goes :slight_smile:
