Hello Mudita fellows!
I am strongly considering a Mudita Kompact. Is anyone able to confirm/deny that Wi-Fi calling will work on the O2 network in the UK? Where I live is bucolic but effectively zero network signal, so Wi-Fi calling is essential.
Everything I’ve found on the topic is encouraging but leaves room for doubt - it seems carrier dependent, if someone can actually verify it works the phone looks perfect.

I don’t use O2 in the UK but EE, and they also do not make it explicit that wifi calling works with the Mudita Kompakt; and it does work. I understand from reading about the issue (because I had the same concerns as you) that the primary UK mobile networks (Vodafone, Three, EE and O2) allow wifi calling from all modern mobile phone hardware and SIMs. It’s not so clear with MVNO services that piggyback on these networks (Lebara, Tesco Mobile, Lyca, etc) which may have service limitations built in as part of their discount deal with whatever primary network they use. There appears to be no means of knowing what hardware works with what MVNO service before you try it.
This is not the direct first hand data you needed, I know, but it may be another bit of evidence useful to someone.
I use giffgaff, which uses the O2 network. Wifi calling is supported on my MK, but there is a glitch where sometimes the outgoing audio is missing from the wifi call connection.
After chasing it up with Mudita support, they investigated and found that there was an issue with the way o2 specifically handled the transfer of the call from network to wifi connection. I was told that the only fix would be to move to the EE or Vodafone networks.
I therefore tried to move to Spusu, which uses EE’s network and signed up for an e-sim. I found that the wifi calling menu options were then completely missing from the networking options on the MK. Spusu told me that they simply flat out don’t support a Mudita Device and therefore having detected the device using the e-sim, wifi calling protocols just don’t appear and they had no plans to support the device in future.
So I’m back to giffgaff with an intermittent issue where callers can’t hear me if i ever answer a call when connected to wifi!

Lebara (Vodafone) works great for wifi calling on my MK.
