Which directions apps do you use other than Waze?

I’ve been using Waze for months but recently it seems to be having some problems and has even crashed the phone a few times.

Is there a different app anyone would recommend other than the default offline maps app?

Or does anyone actually swear by the default one?

Yes offline maps. I use a paper map to plan trips or I will look on the internet on the home PC before venturing out, and write down some notes, but I will admit I get lost and stuck in traffic sometimes and occasionally I need a compass.

Surprising I have used waze and never had any issues with it

Me either until this last week. Another odd thing is every time I’ve been using it, I get a popup that Signal stopped responding. No other app usage causes Signal to crash, only Waze. This also never happened before in previous months. Everything is up to date.

I tried organic maps, the maps app from mudita, here maps and waze. Out of all these waze is the best.

I use Here WeGo.

Waze is excellent, but was bought out by Google in a measure to swallow up a rival. This means Google is tracking your journeys. That’s a dealbreaker for me.

I’ve gone a step further, and use a Manchester A-Z :grin:

It’s also something of a conversation starter too!

+1 to here we go, I’ve found it works well enough on the Kompakt and gives me directions that are more or less comparable to google / apple maps.
