Come on guys, really. This is supposed to be a minimal phone, yet one cannot turn off whatsapp or message notifications?
I cant wrap my head around how this is not fixed yet. Seriously considering to sell my Mudita Kompakt because of this.
I dont want to sideload or do magic for these basic things… this phone is supposed to be simple.

The wording of your issue is confusing to me. You’re wanting to turn OFF Whatsapp notifications?
If so, Whatsapp is already a sideloaded app, why would you not then be okay sideloading a solution? You also call these basic things but it inherently goes directly against the purpose of the phone.

esl,sorry. yes, I want to turn off whatsapp notifications. I dont have a problem with messaging apps, Im using this phone bcs I have problems with social media, youtube, porn. the small eink screen helps me with all that.

I have the global version and my os is updated, yet I cant seem to find this section

It’s within the whatsapp settings > notifications. You can set up an ultrasonic ringtone and you won’t hear the notifications anymore. Cheers Download High-Frequency Ultrasound SFX - Free MP3

As others have pointed out- the settings for this could be found in WhatsApp, or any third-party app that you’re trying to configure. Since WhatsApp is not a native Mudita app, there are not any setting specifically dedicated to WhatsApp in our OS. However, you can set the behavior of WhatsApp in the app itself.
Additionally, if you want to just blanked turn off notification for everything, there is an ADB command for that.
cmd appops set <package_name> VIBRATE ignore for specific apps or adb shell settings put system touch_stepless_vibration_intensity 0 for system-wide haptics
