Are sideloaded app icons supposed to look differently in 1.4.0 ? When I first restarted the phone after the new update, the sideloaded icons looked really great, with all kinds of grey shades, but now they are back to all black, as unrecognizable as before.

I just performed an upgrade and it inadvertently made inkOS the default launcher. I had only installed inkOS to follow the development and get access to some system shortcuts but stock launcher has always been my default.
Setting the default launcher with adb as usual didn’t work for some reason. I had to backup and uninstall inkOS to return back to stock launcher.

Ironically this wouldn’t have been necessary, since 1.4.0 now has a shortcut to default apps under “Manage apps”, where you could have set your default launcher back to the stock one.

I had my camera stop opening with the 1.3.0 update: if you search “Camera” under developer options you’ll find “Camera Access” that somehow got turned off on mine… previous thread on the forum I had to dig up to find this solution

I also have not received the OTA. I got an email saying 1.4.0 is live but obviously thats misleading as its not for everyone. Weird they dont release it to all right away… Its as if its a beta update

I got the email yesterday but the update today, so you should get it soon. No need to drill a hole into the Kompakt where the update symbol is

About 8 hours ago. But not everyone gets it at the same time. Last time I had to wait longer while others had it already.

Not sure, maybe 1-2 days longer. But I can confirm there is now an option to create groups And the music player also works on the lock screen.

I’ve checked sons and daughters kompakt, any of them is seeing OTA. Localisation Poland.

Have the update, all seems fine. Only one minor thing. I read a lot and in ereader mode the letters and icons are grey instead of nice deep black. When I open an ebook or turn a page the letters are nice deep black but a split second later all letters are faded/ grey. The screen is perfectly capable of showing letters in nice deep black, but in ereader mode it just doesn’t. Why is this?
Other users have the same experience?
I really hope this can be fixed with the next update.
And for the next update, maybe 6 steps for letter size in stead of 3? For me small is way too small, middle is ok, large is waaaaay too large I would like a size just below the middle setting. Then the Kompakt is perfect for me… But overall, still love it!

Same thing with the E-reader. Putting font settings to defaults / medium makes it usable, but I would also love for the “Bold Text” system setting to apply to E-reader. Which right now, doesn’t
