With my Kompakt running MuditaOS K 1.6.1 here in the USA, I cleared the calls-tally dot (or “badge”) from my Kompakt home screen’s Phone icon and used another cellphone on my same network (T-Mobile) to leave a voicemail message for me through the carrier’s voicemail-to-voicemail messaging service (which does not ring the destination number), and here is what I saw:
- Okay: The calls-tally dot appeared with a “1” in the Phone icon’s upper-right corner.
- Not Helpful: A “missed call” label appeared on the lock screen, even though technically I did not miss a call and instead had a voicemail message waiting for me.
I then used that other cellphone on my same network to leave a SECOND voicemail message for me through the carrier’s voicemail-to-voicemail service, and here is what I saw:
- Not Helpful: The calls-tally dot stayed at “1” instead of getting incremented to “2” – which is what I expected, given that I now had TWO voicemail messages waiting for me.
REQUEST #1: Instead of using the calls-tally dot on the Phone icon, please consider displaying a reel-to-reel / cassette-tape icon at the top of the screen (where the battery- and cell-strength icons appear) when one or more voicemail messages are waiting.
Here is a low-resolution mockup of how that icon appears at the top of nearly every cellphone in the USA when one or more voicemail messages are waiting:

REQUEST #2: And, please consider displaying “voicemail waiting” text instead of “missed call” text on the lock screen when one or more voicemail messages are waiting.
Thank you!
