Two Sims issues Whatsapp

Hiya, I have two sims in my Mudita Kompakt but unforunately, I am having a lot of problems with my second whatsapp account where contacts can’t be edited and I don’t get notifications, does anyone know why this might be?

Contacts on second whatsapp also don’t seem to sync with phone well.

This is actually quite common & it mostly comes down to how WhatsApp handles dual-SIM and “second instance” setups at the OS level, especially on Android.

I actually has this issue when I traveled to Australia last year & I had my Polish SIM CARD in there & my Australian SIM card.

I did some digging & what I was able to gather is that WhatsApp was not originally designed for two active accounts sharing one contacts database.

Even though WhatsApp now officially supports two accounts, the second account often runs in a sandboxed or cloned environment, depending on:

  • Android version
  • Whether the second WhatsApp is the native multi-account feature or a “Dual Apps / App Clone” feature
  • The phone you use also matters.

That sandboxing causes several side effects.
