The Kompakt (with Katapult, KompaktCalendar and more) is now everything I wanted!

Hi all, I had a couple of months without my Kompakt - it fell to the ground and the fall broke the screen. I put it in the drawer, and finally shipped it to Mudita for repair. When it came back I had to reinstall everything, so I had a new look at all the community apps now available. I have for some days had my “new” Kompakt up and running. And I have to say this: with the latest community apps, the Kompakt is now everything I wanted. Almost, at least!

The Katapult is the launcher I have been waiting for: keeping the simplicity of the stock Mudita launcher, while adding important functionality.

KompaktCalendar is a very significant and almost essential addition for me. As someone who forgets things way too easily, having a calendar on my phone with adjustable reminders and real notifications is essential. The fact that this app has a great reminder and agenda system, even the possibility to snooze reminders, is a godsend to me. My work does not allow me to install or import outlook calendar on third party apps, so I need to add meetings manually, but that is fine - it actually helps me remember my agenda even better. The addition of this app is huge for me.

Other good additions: The stock sms app worked for me, but InkMessage is even better. CalmQR is very handy. Today looks like a great to-do app - will see if I get around to using it. (and like before I use Gboard as keyboard and Gmaps VW for accessing google maps - I hate google just as much as the next guy but these two apps make life easier)

And lo and behold: suddenly the Norwegian money transfer and finance app Vipps is working on the Kompakt - which is VERY good news for me (it is difficult to explain to people outside Norway how important Vipps has become here).

All in all, the Mudita is now everything I wanted. Almost. It allows me to get by in the very digital society Norway has become, it allows me to organise my life and work, all without tempting me to spend hours on stupid things on the internet. The fact that I need to tinker a bit with it to make it perfect for my needs does not bother me.

If only Mudita added support for microg as well, I would ask for nothing more…

Thanks to Mudita for keeping on improving the product and to everybody who has put down time making these great community apps.
