Since I cant be backer due to no shipment (and recent Harmony 2 purchase)
I wish you all the best. I hope that after 1st April 025 plus packing and shippement time,
in automn 2025 you can have some love for old muditaOS (clocks, EOL phone) since they are
my only line of support (and your bred and butter until Mudita Kompakt goes global)

Durability Testing Recap

Drop Tests

Mudita Kompakt underwent extensive drop testing designed to reflect real-life scenarios:

• It passed 18 drops from heights of 0.8m, 1m, and 1.2m onto smooth ceramic tiles. The tests were concluded at this point, and we did not test beyond 18 drops. This does not mean the next drop would have caused failure—it simply marked the successful completion of the test cycle.
• In a separate repeated drop test from 50cm, the device endured 200 drops to simulate wear over time. Testing was completed after 200 drops, and further impacts were not performed, and just as above this does not mean that the next drop would have caused failure.

These results demonstrate that Mudita Kompakt is robust enough to handle common, everyday drops. As with any device, rough or uneven surfaces (e.g., gravel or rocks) pose a higher risk, especially for the E Ink display, so it’s always best to exercise caution.

Scratch Resistance

The front glass is made of matte, mineral material designed to balance durability and functionality. It achieved an 8H rating in the Pencil Hardness Test, indicating good resistance to everyday scratches. Minor marks may appear with normal use, especially due to the matte finish, but the screen is well-suited for daily life.

While the glass performs reliably for its intended use, those seeking added protection can consider a screen protector.

Camera: Capture the Essentials

Mudita Kompakt’s camera reflects our philosophy of simplicity and focus. On the device’s monochrome E Ink display, your photos appear in black and white, offering a clean, distraction-free view. However, when transferred to a computer or another device, the images reveal their full color and resolution.

Less then two days to go @mudita pioneers and backers (Titos pioneers :DDD should try to reach out to all social media and friends to promote Kickstarter, so we can get as many backers as possible. Please advise that beside good sides Kompakt ships only to developed at Kickstart time.
Having more Kompakts on sale will mean more profit and more resources for software development of MOS-K
and older MuditaOS even (alarm clocks, old phone)

@urszula: Other than pledge level (price), what was the difference between the Ultra Early Bird and the Super Early Bird?

I assumed that Mudita would end the Ultra Early Bird pledge level well before December 2, but both levels were available all the way through to the end of the Kickstarter campaign.

977 people backed Ultra Early Bird, including a few in the final days of the campaign.

Nine people backed Super Early Bird, including some in the first days of the campaign.

Were the Super Early Bird backers simply paying a little more even though they could have backed with an Ultra Early Bird pledge?

I am new to backing a product on Kickstarter, so I am confused about the need for two pledge levels when both levels were available throughout the Kompakt campaign.

Anyway, I am glad that I backed the campaign (at the Ultra Early Bird level) some two minutes after it began!

It’s just a price difference. I’m not sure why the 9 people decided to back at the higher price, maybe they clicked on the wrong button out of excitement. I know it might sound crazy, but it does happen

My hope was it was Zuckerberg from facebook and bezos from amazon and they are just so rich it did not matter which early bird they bought
Hopefully the kompakt can change them into ethical men

Mudita Kompakt Indiegogo Campaign Has Begun

@urszula, how long will the new Indiegogo campaign for the Mudita Kompakt last? (I do not see an end date for the Indiegogo campaign.)

Hey @kirkmahoneyphd, at this point, we haven’t set a definitive end date yet for the Indiegogo campaign. With New Years approaching - and a lot going on between post-Kickstarter preparations, holiday season planning, and gearing up for everything we have lined up for next year - we’ve decided to keep the crowdfunding phase open a bit longer.

(We’ll make sure to let everyone know in advance once we are closer to ending.)

This gives us time to ensure everything is set up properly on our backend (and websites) while staying focused on meeting the shipping timelines we’ve promised. For now, Indiegogo is a still chance for anyone who missed the Kickstarter campaign, to get a Kompakt

(We’ve also got some things lined up to spread the word!)
