The Compact Quran — Community App Review
Version: 0.2.0

A Qur’ān reader built specifically for the Mudita Kompakt’s small screen. Instead of cramming a full muṣḥaf page onto the display, it shows only a few lines at a time
(≈2-3 lines of a regular muṣḥaf); a small, digestible unit per screen. While I didn’t use MMD (just found about it after finishing the app!), the app was designed on purpose to be used effortlessly and comfortably with the Mudita Kompakt specifically (in fact, it would look quite horrible on a smartphone, but still functional).

Install:

  1. Enable installing from unknown sources / USB debugging on the Kompakt.
  2. Sideload the APK (via your file manager, or adb install CompactQuran-v0.2.apk).
  3. On first launch it builds & caches the compact pagination, so give it a moment.

I’d genuinely welcome feedback from other users. I made it for my own Kompakt after noticing I read far more this way than on a normal muṣḥaf (slight phobia of crowded text) or a smartphone app where the device will distract me (on the Mudita Kompakt, simply activate offline+ then read without interruptions). The bite-sized pace works really well for memorization too.

Just installed it. Refreshing to see another way to tackle comfortable reading on this screen. This design is a lot what I had in mind initially, but what made me switch to paginating everything and removing the scroll was the Kompakt’s expected laggy animation. So its a little disorienting to keep scrolling. Word by word selection (and grammar info) is awesome.

I’m gonna try your file on a normal smartphone as I expect the smooth animation would make it perfect (and you should consider putting it up on the Playstore after prettying it up etc.).

While my paginating design was on purpose to accustom it to the Kompakt, I noticed that it helped me read more, and memorize better as well. I explain it more on the webapp version if you’re interested: https://compactquran.app/webapp
