Suggestion for Customer-Driven Feature Prioritization in KOMPAKT

Suggestion for Customer-Driven Feature Prioritization in KOMPAKT

Is there an existing list of upcoming updates where customers can upvote or downvote them?Over nearly 40 years in tech, I’ve encountered countless innovative products that truly delighted users—yet others left me scratching my head, wondering if the developers had consulted end users for early feedback (LOL!).

Idea: It would be fantastic to introduce a “Top 10 Future Features” list for KOMPAKT, exclusively for registered owners. This could empower the community to vote on each idea with simple options like:

  • Yes, yes, yes! (I want this feature now)
  • Meh (I’m indifferent)
  • No, no, no (Not interested at all)

KOMPAKT’s development team could curate the initial suggestions, focusing on ideas that align with the company’s philosophy and vision. This way, we build what our users truly value! What do you think?

I like the idea. There is a big thread of suggested improvements but it’s just a long string of individual posts rather than a poll, which would probably be better for tracking what people want on a larger scale.

I see those never ending threads everywhere on Social Media (reddit, X etc)
A poll. I think, is the best approach to do it in an efficient way.

It will be crystal clear what people need/Want.

While I like this kind of approach, you need to remember that the upvoted features are from a vocal minority of users.
Users who gather on forums are only a subset of the real users for any product. And there could be a huge discrepancy between the vocal minority and real userbase.

Also, users on forum are not product managers. They don’t have all the impications of their ideas. They submit contradicting ideas.

This forum is full op people complaining of the lack of feature of what is marketed as a dumb phone for which the lack of features is the main selling point (!)

I agree—it’s a solid approach to ensure we’re building features that truly resonate.

To clarify my suggestion: I’d love to see product managers start by curating an initial list of feasible ideas that align with Mudita’s core ideology, then poll us customers on our priorities.

That way, we’re voting from a thoughtful, bounded set rather than starting from a blank slate. You’re spot on about the disconnect too—the vocal folks on forums, Reddit, and the like often don’t reflect the quieter majority, who might make up 75% of the Kompakt customer base. 😊

That’s precisely why we’d need something broader: at minimum, an official email blast to all registered users, inviting input via an annual survey (or even twice a year for momentum). It democratizes the process and captures those underrepresented voices.(For context, it’s like when a far-right or far-left influencer runs a poll on X—80% of their followers already echo the same views, so it’s just an echo chamber confirming biases. No real insights there, LOL.)All that said, I totally get your point…

I think I have mentioned this before, but I think it’s also important to highlight the fact that when someone purchases a Mudita Kompakt- (whether they are on the forum or not & many users, unfortunately are not) we send out user satisfaction surveys. In those surveys, actual/ confirmed Mudita Kompakt let us know what they like & don’t like, as what features are important to them & which features are not.
We also did this with the Sentry Opt-out function. Sometimes, it takes a little bit of time to get back all the responses from users, so that’s sometimes the reason why we wait a bit with making a final decision because we want users to be able to voice their opinion.

We understand that waiting can be frustrating, but this process ensures that every update or feature we release reflects the broader community’s real needs, not just the loudest opinions.
