I’ve been using the Mudita Kompakt as my primary phone for the past few weeks. I truly love the design and the fact that it uses an E-Ink display — it’s a beautiful, minimalist device that aligns perfectly with what I’m looking for in a phone.
However, I’ve unfortunately experienced a few serious issues with SMS reliability. On several occasions, important text messages never arrived — this even led to a very unfortunate situation in a professional setting. I’ve also noticed that any group messages (sent as MMS or group SMS) never reach the device, and there have been a few individual messages that simply disappeared as well.
This has made me hesitant to continue using the phone as my main device. As a parent with a child in kindergarten and someone working in the healthcare sector, I need to be absolutely certain that I receive all messages and calls.
My questions:
Is Mudita aware of these SMS issues?
Can we expect a software update that addresses them soon?
Will RCS support be added in the future?
Has anyone else experienced phone calls not coming through?
Just to clarify: I have never activated RCS or iMessage on any of my previous devices, so the issue should not stem from those services.
I really hope this is high on the team’s priority list — because aside from this, the phone has everything I need. I’d love to be able to trust it as my full-time device.
I would like to add something I have observed on several occasions - a few days ago I received some SMS with over 6h of delay. Yesterday I actually never received several text messages from my wife; she had do call me over the phone to ask what is happening and why I am not responding to her messages. Over 24h after that - still nothing, those SMS just vanished into think air…
@pondus87 Hi. Thank you for reaching out. I’m sorry that you’re having problems. Are you in North America? What service provider are you using? Are your APN settings updated & correct?
Here’s the possible culprit: If the sender has is sending RCS messages the you’re probably not going to receive them. Mudita Kompakt doesn’t support RSC. Does the sender have an iPhone?
Hello! I am in Canada (in Montreal, with Fido), and I have also been having issues receiving texts… Texts from the same person will sometimes work, and then the following day not at all. Will this issue be fixed soon? Is there any work around for RCS and MMS texts? I really love the device, but it is giving me anxiety to think someone might be trying to join me and I won’t even know… Thank you for your help.
