Hi there, former Punkt MP02 user here. I just ordered my Kompakt and I’m really excited to get my hands on the device hopefully soon! One thing I wasn’t able to find on the forum is how notifications work when sideloading Signal? I understand there are just notifications for SMS and missed calls by design but I wonder if this means there aren’t notifications for Signal at all? I couldn’t find any images of Signal receiving messages on the Kompakt so I really wonder how this would look like!

I asked a similar question about WhatsApp. Apparently no home screen notification but there is an audible alert.
Would like to know if there’s a notification dot on the app and what happens with incoming calls on WhatsApp though.

For both WhatsApp and Signal there is an audible notification.
We do have a separate thread on this topic. It covers other notifications as well.

And, for those who embrace what you wrote here, @urszula, I assume that users of WhatsApp, Signal, Session, etc., will want to turn OFF those audible notifications!
