Request: timer feature for Kompakt

yes not having a timer means I have to use a secondary device for cooking , meditating exercise etc etc , so my life is actually more cluttered than if the kompakt had one.

@petemeister Thanks for bringing this up again  & I get it, you would like a timer & YES a timer can certainly be a helpful tool and we appreciate that it matters to some members of our community.
Here’s the thing, I know that this has come up a few times here on the forum, but it’s worth mentioning that when we sent out the surveys to the the thousands of backers and early pre-order customers during the launch phase, this wasn’t something that appeared on the wider community’s priority list.

And right now, our development team is focused on a number of improvements that have been repeatedly highlighted by the community, especially around core communication features and overall stability. These areas remain our top priority because they affect the use of Mudita Kompakt on a daily basis.

However, I will bring it up again & let the team know.

I didn’t back this phone in the Kickstarter/Indiegogo phase so I don’t remember such a survey or how it was presented to users.

However if you sent a survey on what features I would want, I would never request “timer”, because I would simply assume that is part of the clock app.

@gezimos has just echoed exactly the point I was about to make. Of course backers and early users didn’t mention a timer. They, like us, assumed that something so rudimentary would be present. It’s a staple. If you asked what features people would like in a house, how many would say ‘insulation’, ‘plumbed water’, ‘flooring’? Zero. Similarly, how many people, when asked what features they’d like in a car, would say, ‘wipers’? Zero. The reason is that they expect it to be present. It’s part of the toolkit.

So, @urszula, the fact that Mudita took that original wish list so literally (to the letter) as an exhaustive list is a revelation in itself (and not a flattering one). And the fact that Mudita still cannot see what a glaring omission this is despite this community pointing it out, quite frankly, astounds me.

Maybe it’s time I took a stab at it…

I am surprised this is not a stock feature
It should be obvious that people expect a clock app to have a timer?
Maybe even a stopwatch too, not as necessary but also useful and expected of a clock app.

When I need a timer, for example because I have a roast in the oven, I simply set the alarm clock to the desired time. Of course, this requires adding the desired time, e.g., 45 minutes, to the current time in order to set the alarm clock correctly. But it works just as well.
In the meantime, however, I have purchased an analog timer for the kitchen, which is attached to the refrigerator with a magnet. It is set to the desired time and then rings when the time is up. It can be that simple

Hi Urszula, I imagine it didn’t come back as a priority in your surveys as it would already have been assumed by those surveyed that there would of course be a timer on the phone just as they would have assumed call , text and an alarm. I have never come across any phone without a timer. Please include one in the next update !

@jambon I totally get it. That’s why I’m making sure the team know, how much the Community wants this feature.
