Reader dark theme

Hi. First of all, Ive been using my Kompakt from two months now and Ive been loving it.

Ive also been using the reader native app on ocassions when I forget my kindle. The problem is, kompakt doesnt have a warm back light (def should be added), and the reader is just way too bright to comfortably read at night.

Is the team considering adding the dark theme on the reader, and maybe also the blue light filter?

Just to make sure we’re on the same page & that I understand you correctly. when you write ‘dark theme’ are you thinking about the inverted color mode- or more along the lines that there is NO LIGHT used when reading?

Hi Urszula. Im talking about inverted color mode. I always use it on my kindle while reading at night, so Id like to have it on Kompakt too. The background light is just too strong.

Regarding the epub reader, I got epubs from my favorite newspaper and noticed articles were barely readable – probably because the letters are not in pure black. Would be nice to be able to force the font colour to maximize the contrast / readability.

Thank you for this clarification. I have passed this on to the team.

This is the exact reason why I use ReadEra instead of the default ebook app.

barely readable indeed.

Hope they can fix this so I can uninstall another sideloaded app

Well, tbh, I like the native reader much more than any apps Ive ever tried. Its great, simple, readable, no fussing around with documents, formats, super readable… only thing it misses is a dark mode.
