Quick Feedback After 2 Weeks of Use - Mudita Kompakt

I’m very happy with the Mudita Kompakt and I really like it, although—as many people have already mentioned—a lot of the built-in apps are so underdeveloped that they’re practically unusable.

However, a few things bother me:
• Seeing the logo, text, and lock icon constantly on the lock screen is quite annoying.
• I really miss a feature I had on the LightPhone — being able to forward a link or photo to my email inbox (so I can view it later on a computer) when someone sends me something I can’t open properly on the Mudita.
• The inability to rearrange the order of apps is frustrating.
• Once I go over 12 apps, unnecessary navigation arrows appear on the home screen. I wish I could always have a grid of 12 icons, even if there are more apps installed.
• I miss calendar syncing — I’d love to enter tasks on my computer and check them throughout the day on the phone.
• The sound/notification management feels too limited. For example, I want to disable keyboard sounds when dialing numbers, but still have other sounds enabled.
• The only app I sideloaded was WhatsApp, and it bothers me that I don’t get any visible notifications on the screen when someone messages me.
• There’s no timer or stopwatch, which I think should be basic features.
• I’d love to have an inverted black-and-white mode (black background with white elements).
• In the Maps app, I wish there were a list view of saved geopoints (coordinates), so I could store places I want to remember without using Google Maps or pins.

Agree on almost all of this - really good feedback!
On the dark mode idea, I did hack it to see what it’s like and it’s not so good as I’d imagined. So I’m 100% happy with the current light mode

I suspect that many people coming from non-E Ink displays are accustomed to dark mode, given that computer and cellphone displays in dark mode can be easier on the eyes. In contrast (no pun intended), light mode can be easier on the eyes when on an E Ink display.

Are you saying you cant look at pictures if they are texted to you?

You can but it is on an e-ink display so not as easy to see details.

I don’t agree with all, but the calendar sync is coming, afaik.

Unless I’m mistaken Google Calendar sync and Apple Calendar sync are coming, not calDAV. I’m sure someone else will confirm the veracity of this.

I’m not sure what is coming, but when setting up a third-party calendar app, it listed ‘PC sync’ as an existing calendar on the Mudita. It’s probably a placeholder for the future.

That is the default AOSP Calendar functionality. Other apps can use that as a base to store the Events. In case you use a different calendar like Fossify Calendar it will populate the events into that AOSP calendar app. The current Mudita calendar doesn’t do that.
