I’ve been using the Kompakt for about a month now and I really like it. Lately though, both the call and text sounds have been extremely annoying. I’ve gone into the settings and browsed the alternate sounds, and they’re actually even more annoying than the default ones. Some of the sounds are almost good, but they’re all way too long for their purpose. I would personally suggest giving users the ability to upload their own notification sounds without needing to sideload anything/jailbreak the device, or provide some more sounds that are much shorter and less high-pitched.
AFAIK, it is on the roadmap for this year to add the ability for people to add custom ringtones. In the meantime though, the community made app KompaktX gives you ability and works well. Also I feel the need to say, sideloading on the Kompakt is not jailbreaking, it’s using a feature the company themselves allows and encourages.
I’m aware sideloading isn’t jailbreaking. I’ve sideloaded a ton of apps myself. I just think it would be cool if this were easily accessible to users out the box.
@tenzin Welcome to the Mudita Forum. We’re glad you’re here. We totally understand that everyone has different tastes when it comes to sounds and notifications. That’s why custom sounds and notifications are planned and on our radar for this year.
