Paragliding usage?

I’ve tried many activities and paragliding is one of the most intense, mind/full-blowing and… overall epic. E-Ink devices widely used, but no perfect phone for that so far. Unless now?
Does someone of you know about GPS chip? BCM47755 with capability to combine more satellite services to increase precision would be great. Also the barometer is not specified in any teardown list - MS5803 would be ideal for “us”

This is likely going to be an unpopular opinion.

I would not rely on the Mudita Kompakt in any critical situation where my life is at risk.

For a few reasons:

  1. The hardware is limited and underpowered. The phone uses a very old SoC.
  2. The operating system software is already buggy, and the development team is quite small. As of now, I don’t think the software is anywhere near reliable.
  3. Sideloaded apps are officially unsupported. Apps like GaiaGPS or CalTopo are not guaranteed to work properly.
  4. Lack of durability. E-ink screens are fragile, someone on this forum has already cracked their screen indoors.
  5. Lack of satellite functionality. This is an important feature that, I cannot imagine going off grid without.

Instead I would recommend a new Apple Watch or iPhone. These devices check off all of the criteria I listed above.

I’ve gone on dozens of backcountry hikes with these devices. GaiaGPS and other mapping software will be rock solid. I’ve used the satellite connectivity features plenty of times.
I’ve even unintentionally tested the durability of the Apple Watch and it’s fall detection feature while running (it automatically will call emergency services, if you do not respond after a hard fall).

I can confidently trust my life with these devices.
