Optimal Battery Charging

Hi folks/Mudita team,

Is there a way to optimise battery health on the MK? Or to put it another way, what is best practice for charging the device. Presently, I simply plug in the MK to charge overnight, so it remains plugged in for 8 hrs or so, but I don’t know if there is battery charging optimisation happening on the device similar to what happens on iOS, which is where I’ve moved from.

Many thanks.

Hi, I believe keeping it 20-80% is the best but battery optimization in the OS is en route.

You could try Accubattery. It’s a great little app that monitor and keep your battery health.

Thanks for the tip.

The app tells me that there’s no way to actually stop the charge at 80% or adjust the rate/time of charge (like iOS does on its own). All it can do is make a sound when 80% (or your chosen % is reached). That means that one has to be within earshot of the phone on charge. I want to be able to leave the room/house carefree. Accubattery (or any app) can’t seem to do that due to limitations with Android 12. So, I’ve decided to uninstall it and not worry about managing battery health/cycles. The OS doesn’t really support it.
