One week later with the Kompakt

I got the Mudita Kompakt one week ago today and I’ve grown to love the device and it’s potential.

The hardware is amazing. Form wise everything i ask for in a phone. Small, durable, and good looking.

Software is the area that shows most potential. The apps are there and working but with upcoming updates could really shine. The focus on mindfulness and non distracting apps is the way to go.

The E-ink screen is the thing that suprised me the most, the calming effect on the eyes and visibility in daylight are game changers.

Some other things i love is that the product is from a European country from a company with good values and mindset.

A small wishlist is native Swedish support for the keyboard, long-presses for ÅÄÖ are tiresome and sadly buggy (only works half the time and I have to minimize the keyboard for it to work).

I look forward to the post NA shipping and to see what software improvements is on the horizon.

In the meantime that they fix the keyboard, I highly recommend you sideaload FUTO keyboard. It will improve your experience greatly.

Wow, did not know about this keyboard, but it sure looks promising! Will definitely try it out, I am currently using Gboard which is not ideal, this other keyboard seems to have all the features I enjoy from it.

Thanks for sharing!

Yes. FUTO is the gold standard nowadays. It works offline which is a massive plus and has plenty of language options

Jose how would you compare the current kompakt typing experience compared to the light phone 2? Because I am fine with the lp2, does not bother me the speed of the typing, I don’t need laser fast texting experience

I’d say it is similar. LP2 and Kompakt are at the same place right now. Hope the Kompakt gets updated though because it has a lot of potential

Perfect, that is all I needed to hear, I enjoy the slowness of the keyboard teaches me patience something I have been working on through meditation and using a lp2 which requires a lot lol

I have 100 percent faith Mudita will continue to update the device, they learned from the Pure

@cricke Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with Mudita Kompakt! We’re thrilled to hear that the device is growing on you. I gotta admit- It’s grown on me since I started using it back in the beginning of March.

We also really appreciate your thoughtful feedback on the software and your wishlist for native Swedish keyboard support. It’s exactly this kind of input that helps us improve. We’re continuously working on software updates, and improving the typing experience is one of the things that our team is working on.

Thanks again for being part of our Mudita Kompakt journey! We’re SUPER excited for what’s ahead and grateful to have you with us!

If any other insane people use thumb-key, I would love to see how it looks on the kompakt! I imagine its way too tall, but I can dream.

Since i use two devices at the moment, one being an iPhone SE, I get reports of the screen time still.

Down under 2 hours per day now from well over 4 hours on my iPhone. The Kompakt have taught med intentional use instead of impulsive and compulsive.

I’ve tried it and it looks great on the MK. It works perfectly. My problem was the swipe system, which is not ergonomic for me. I opted for anysoftkeyboard instead.
