Offline+ mode to have option to set password before being enabled

Hello everyone, I’m new here and I have been following and watching a lot of reviews videos about Mudita Kompakt and the first time I saw it, I fell in love with it. I knew I wanted one, I have been wanting an epaper phone that is compact and would last me years, but the only thing that is stopping me from buying it was the offline mode button(?) that I might accidentally turn on when I put it on my pocket. I saw people say that it’s pretty resistant to accidental push but I’m sure I would be paranoid to check it so often. That’s when I realized that perhaps this device is not for me but I’m still hoping it would be. I really love it and I spent my days just watching videos of it haha. I just really need to be always available to contact and I also always use data 24/7 for Whatsapp. Thank you and have a nice day to everyone!

i don’t know why people say that but i think the offline+ button doesn’t easily switch on.
it’s not a problem for me, i never accidentally switched it on.

Happened to me twice when I removed the protective case, but I have a pretty tight custom pouch on my belt - so it happened that I was pulling the phone out tilted to the switch side and then it latched on the pouch edge. Anyway.

@reth Welcome to the Mudita Forum. We are glad you’re here.
This is a really interesting suggestion. I have to admit, I’ve never thought about it because (Just to ease one part of your concern) the Offline+ switch is deliberately designed to be quite resistant to accidental toggling. It requires an intentional slide (it’s got some resistance to it), so it’s very unlikely to switch on by itself in a pocket.

That said, I will pass this on to the team.

@urszula omg thank you very much for considering my suggestion! I’m hoping to buy the kompakt this year for my birthday. I’m so excited!

It will probably make a difference, if you use a protective case or not. With protective case attached, the toggle switch for Offline+ is recessed and will not be changed accidentially.

@MicKitten I would definitely also buy one for more protection . Thank you!

So far, this hasn’t happened to me after six months of daily use. I don’t use a protective case. This could be solved by inserting something that would prevent the switch from moving.
