New reMarkable paper pro move

Remarkable seem to have a somewhat similar goal in purposeful less distracting devices.

Has anyone looked at their new ‘move’ device announcement today? A small form factor ‘paper’ tablet

I like what they do primarily becuase of the very focused use cases. Fits wanting to reduce distractions

I wish it was cheaper and I’m not overly worried about color. Probably won’t buy at the current price.

Yeah it’s not cheap. For the cost of custom devices though it’s not exactly expensive either.

Unfortunate reality of inflation in 2025. Lots of prices have been suppressed, everything is getting very expensive now.

It’s an interesting device. I’m not sure I’ll get one over a normal note pad, but I do like it.

If I could expense it, why not. I oftentimes make paper notes and plans and then for another iteration filter them and pass to my laptop, and when it needs tidy up I move back to paper. ReMarkable of any kind sounds like a good fit.

wow, I’ve been looking for an eink tablet in this form factor exactly! I want it for drawing and note-taking. It’s just a shame Remarkable doesn’t support libby.

I own a Remarkable v1 and it’s a very good device.
But be aware that they switched to a subscription model and are tying their devices more and more to their proprietary cloud.

Like @ploum, I own the reMarkable 1. I also have the reMarkable 2 but I left the reMarkable ecosystem. I couldn’t recommend any reMarkable product at all. Don’t fall for the marketing. rM1 was an excellent device. Plastic case and screen, which are optimal materials for a combined reader and note-taking device. Then they decided to ape Apple. They moved to metal frames and glass screens to dupe people into thinking that it’s a “premium device”. This added weight which means after 10 mins of reading, fatigue sets in. Writing on glass also ruins the writing feel. Software features are released at a snail’s pace and is often so buggy that it’s self-defeating. Support is useless. Now, the reMarkable Paper Pro Move is a cynical ploy to attempt to ape Apple (with Apple prices) and convince customers that they need multiple reMarkable devices. In fact, they’re worse than Apple because reMarkable hide many of their features behind a subscription model. Avoid, avoid, avoid. Choose either Supernote or Boox.
