I know there are other threads but I just wanted to get everything in one concrete thread. What is the status of voicemail notifications for North America?
What do YOU mean by “North America” in your question?
A. USA & Canada (but not Mexico, given that Mudita is not targeting it)
B. “North America-optimized” version of Mudita Kompakt
I would love to follow this thread for updates! By default, most if not all carriers in North America do not send text messages when a new voicemail is received; rather, they rely on an icon in the status bar/notification center. Currently with my Mudita Pure (and soon with my Kompakt), I have to manually call my voicemail number to see if I have received anything. It’s not a big deal when I am able to see I’ve missed a call, but if I did not have service when the call was attempted, I do not know to check my voicemail in the first place as there is no indication of a missed call. A VM indicator in the status bar would remove the guesswork for us NA customers!
I will add in that I have never been able to get the voicemail notification to show up on any dumb phone. I still get voicemails, just not any notifications, so I have to call my voicemail after a missed call to see if one was left. Not sure if for some carriers this icon feature just does not work. I have Boost Mobile btw.
@kirkmahoneyphd sorry for the vagueness. USA carriers in the USA. Verizon in particular
Are you looking for feedback from USA-based Verizon Wireless customers using the “North America-optimized” version in particular?
@kirkmahoneyphd that would be preferable yes
For reference, although it does not answer your question, below with underlining are those bands by the three primary USA carriers that match the 4G/LTE bands supported by the ‘North America-optimized’ Kompakt (2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 18, 19, 26, 34, 38, 39, 40, 41, 71).
- AT&T: 2, 4, 5, 12, 14, 17, 29, 30, 66
- T-Mobile USA: 2, 4, 5, 12, 13, 25, 26, 41, 46, 48, 66, 71
- Verizon Wireless: 2, 4, 5, 13, 46, 48, 66
