My honest review.. Mudita Kompakt is a brilliant phone, with some small updates from mudita team it will be perfect!

I am using the kompakt for a week, and I can say that it is so stupid that it is brilliant… The e ink screen is responsive enough for normal usage. It is not blazing fast, but it doesn’t have to be. It’s e ink at the end of the day.
I am using sideloaded apps , WhatsApp, Facebook messenger, brave browser, gboard, magic earth navigation with offline maps, and Niagara pro launcher.
It all works normally, notifications are working.

Battery life is excellent.
The e ink screen is unusable for videos or doom scrolling so forget about it, and honestly i don’t have that desire with this phone. It is in my pocket and i use it only for calls, sms, WhatsApp and messenger messages and calls. Occasionally navigation… Brave browser is there if I need to lookup for something.
I am using aurora store to download and update my apps.

People say it is aosp 12 not safe blabla… I ask them what is safe, everything is hackable it all depends on your threat model…
I will not use banking apps as I don’t need them. I have my card in my pocket and that’s all I need.
I don’t care if someone from another part of the world reads my messages…
At beginning I always checked my kompakt as it was a old habit. But less and less every day… I use it as all phones should be used… as a communication device, nothing more.

So a few thing that bother me are next:

  1. No toggle for mobile data in quick settings
  2. No toggle for location in quick settings
  3. No option to change mobile network manually
  4. [EDIT] See network name , but the network that you are connected, not the one of your provider.
    I am having issues with connecting to EU network because the lack of manual changing. And my network name is showing as my contract providers network, not the network I am connected to…
  5. No notification on lock screen instead for original apps as phone and SMS
  6. No possibility to change lock screen mudita logo
  7. No possibility to turn off weather widget that drains your battery and data

That’s my 2 cents
All in all the device is worth the money because the idea is brilliant and with a few updates it will be perfect for me.

@john765 how did you login to Niagara Pro?
whenever I click on pro it does nothing

Try connecting it to a keyboard and pressing tab to switch to pro and then enter
